People call this duct sealing or air duct repair. Same visit, same written quote, same technician.
What duct sealing involves
We start in the attic or crawlspace and follow the duct runs, because that is where the leaks hide. Loose collars at the plenum, torn flex duct, separated boots at the ceiling registers and old tape that gave up years ago all get addressed. Sealing means mastic and mesh at the joints, new fasteners where the connection has pulled apart, and replacement of any section too damaged to hold. We also reseal boots where they meet the drywall, since that gap pulls hot attic air straight into the supply.
What we check and install
Before we seal anything we look at static pressure, airflow at each register, and the condition of the insulation wrapping the ducts. Sealing a duct that is crushed or badly undersized just moves the problem, so we note that first. Work usually includes mastic at every accessible joint, new draw bands on flex connections, sealing at the air handler cabinet and plenum, and re-insulating spots where the wrap was cut or fell open. Then we retest airflow so you can feel the difference at the vent.
How we decide it is the right call
Duct sealing makes sense when the equipment is doing its job and the delivery is failing. Signs we look for are a big temperature difference between rooms, registers that barely move a tissue, dust building up fast after a filter change, and an attic that feels cooler than it should near the ducts. If we find crushed runs, rodent damage or a duct system too small for the AC, we say so and talk about repair or replacement instead of selling sealing that will not hold.

How do I know if my ducts are leaking?
Weak airflow at rooms farthest from the air handler, uneven temperatures, and dust returning quickly after a filter change are common signs. We confirm it by measuring airflow and static pressure rather than guessing.
Can duct sealing fix one hot bedroom?
Often yes, if that run is leaking or disconnected at the boot. Sometimes the cause is duct size or a closed damper instead, so we inspect that run before promising a result.
Does duct sealing help in winter too?
Yes. The same leaks that lose cooled air in summer dump heated air into the attic or crawlspace, so sealing helps both heating and cooling performance year round.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call or fill in the quote form. We ask what changed, when it started, and what the thermostat reads. That tells us whether to bring parts for a cooling fault or a heating fault.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and coil, refrigerant pressures, and the outdoor unit. You get told what failed and why, in plain words, before anything is replaced.
- Step 3
Repair and verify
We make the repair, then run the system and measure the results at the vents. If a part needs ordering, we say so and give you a realistic window instead of a vague promise.

Why homeowners call us
- Built for real valley heatWe work in areas where afternoons sit above 110 degrees and systems run for months without a break. That shapes how we size repairs, check capacitors and contactors, and judge whether a compressor is genuinely done.
- Attic and package unitsPlenty of homes across the region run attic air handlers or rooftop package units instead of a garage furnace and a side-yard condenser. We are used to the access, the duct runs, and the drain issues those setups bring.
- Dust and debris we expectAg dust, cottonwood fluff and grass clippings pack condenser coils and starve a system of airflow. We clean what we find and show you the difference, rather than adding refrigerant to a unit that just could not breathe.
- Heating too, not only ACFurnace repair, heat pump faults and no-heat calls get the same attention as summer work. Ignition problems, cracked or failing components and short cycling all get diagnosed before we recommend anything larger.
- All major brands, gas & electricFrom Carrier and Trane to Lennox, Goodman, Rheem and Bryant, serviced independently.
- Straight answersWhen a replacement beats a repair, we tell you, sometimes before we roll a truck.
