Duct Replacement

We replace failed and worn-out duct systems in homes across California and Nevada, from attic runs that have collapsed to crushed flex and joints that came apart years ago. You need duct replacement when a system leaks so badly that patching individual spots no longer helps, when rodents or age have shredded the insulation, or when rooms at the far end of the house never get air. Call us and we will inspect what is up there, measure what the house actually needs, and give you a written plan before anything comes out.

What a duct replacement job involves

We start in the attic or crawlspace and map every run, register and boot before we pull a thing. Old flex and insulation come out and go in bags, not on your floors. New duct gets sized to the airflow each room needs, supported so it does not sag between joists, and sealed at every connection with mastic rather than tape alone. Then we reconnect the plenum, balance the registers, and run the system to confirm each room delivers air. Most homes are done in a day or two.

What we check and what we install

Before quoting, we check static pressure, return capacity, register temperatures and the condition of the plenum and boots. A duct system starves if the return side is undersized, so we look at that closely instead of only replacing supply runs. Installed work usually means insulated flex or sheet metal trunks sized to the load, new boots sealed to the drywall, added returns where the house needs them, and fresh insulation over anything in a hot attic. We photograph the finished work so you can see it.

How we decide replacement is the right call

Repair wins when the damage is in two or three spots and the rest of the system is sound. Replacement makes sense when leakage is spread across the whole system, when insulation has fallen off or gone flat, when rodents have opened up multiple runs, or when the duct was never sized for the equipment on it. We tell you which one you are looking at and why. If sealing and patching will get you through a few more seasons, we will say so.

Duct Replacement — quick answers

Can you replace ducts without tearing into my ceilings?

In most homes, yes. Attic and crawlspace runs come out through the existing register openings and the access hatch. We only cut drywall when a boot is failed or a new register is needed, and we tell you first.

Will new ducts fix hot rooms at the end of the house?

Often yes, if the cause is leakage, crushed flex or undersized runs. We measure airflow at that register first so we are not replacing duct when the real problem is the return or the equipment.

Do I have to replace the AC at the same time?

No. Duct replacement stands on its own and can be done with equipment you plan to keep. If your system is near the end of its life, we will point that out so you can plan the order of work.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form. We ask what changed, when it started, and what the thermostat reads. That tells us whether to bring parts for a cooling fault or a heating fault.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and coil, refrigerant pressures, and the outdoor unit. You get told what failed and why, in plain words, before anything is replaced.

  3. Step 3

    Repair and verify

We make the repair, then run the system and measure the results at the vents. If a part needs ordering, we say so and give you a realistic window instead of a vague promise.

Why homeowners call us

  • Built for real valley heatWe work in areas where afternoons sit above 110 degrees and systems run for months without a break. That shapes how we size repairs, check capacitors and contactors, and judge whether a compressor is genuinely done.
  • Attic and package unitsPlenty of homes across the region run attic air handlers or rooftop package units instead of a garage furnace and a side-yard condenser. We are used to the access, the duct runs, and the drain issues those setups bring.
  • Dust and debris we expectAg dust, cottonwood fluff and grass clippings pack condenser coils and starve a system of airflow. We clean what we find and show you the difference, rather than adding refrigerant to a unit that just could not breathe.
  • Heating too, not only ACFurnace repair, heat pump faults and no-heat calls get the same attention as summer work. Ignition problems, cracked or failing components and short cycling all get diagnosed before we recommend anything larger.
  • All major brands, gas & electricFrom Carrier and Trane to Lennox, Goodman, Rheem and Bryant, serviced independently.
  • Straight answersWhen a replacement beats a repair, we tell you, sometimes before we roll a truck.
