What the installation involves
We start with a load calculation for the room, not a guess off square footage. Then we set the indoor head high on an exterior wall, core a three inch hole for the line set and condensate drain, and mount the outdoor condenser on a pad or wall bracket with room to breathe. Refrigerant lines get brazed and vacuumed down before charging. Electrical runs on its own circuit. Most single-head jobs finish in a day, multi-zone takes longer.
What we check and install
Before we quote anything we check the electrical panel for spare capacity, the wall construction, insulation levels, and where condensate can drain without soaking a stucco wall. Outside we look for a spot out of direct afternoon sun that stays clear of ag dust, cottonwood fluff and irrigation spray. Inside we confirm the head placement will not blow straight at a bed or a TV. Then we install the head, line set, condensate line, disconnect and dedicated circuit.
How we decide a mini-split is the right call
A mini-split makes sense when running new ducts would mean tearing open finished ceilings, or when one room fights the rest of the house. If your existing system is sound and the problem is a single space, one head is usually cheaper and quieter than upsizing everything. If the whole house is struggling, we would rather talk about ducted AC installation or repairing what you have. We tell you which way we would go and why.

Can one mini-split cool my whole house?
Rarely. A single head cools the room it is in and maybe a hallway. Whole-home coverage needs a multi-zone system with a head in each area, which we can price once we have measured the load.
How loud is the indoor head?
Quieter than a window unit by a wide margin, since the compressor lives outside. Most people notice a soft fan hum on high and almost nothing on low. Placement matters, so we discuss it before drilling.
Does a mini-split heat as well as cool?
Most models we install are heat pumps, so they do both. In cooler Nevada elevations we talk through how the unit performs on the coldest mornings and whether you want backup heat in the room.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call or fill in the quote form. We ask what changed, when it started, and what the thermostat reads. That tells us whether to bring parts for a cooling fault or a heating fault.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and coil, refrigerant pressures, and the outdoor unit. You get told what failed and why, in plain words, before anything is replaced.
- Step 3
Repair and verify
We make the repair, then run the system and measure the results at the vents. If a part needs ordering, we say so and give you a realistic window instead of a vague promise.

Why homeowners call us
- Built for real valley heatWe work in areas where afternoons sit above 110 degrees and systems run for months without a break. That shapes how we size repairs, check capacitors and contactors, and judge whether a compressor is genuinely done.
- Attic and package unitsPlenty of homes across the region run attic air handlers or rooftop package units instead of a garage furnace and a side-yard condenser. We are used to the access, the duct runs, and the drain issues those setups bring.
- Dust and debris we expectAg dust, cottonwood fluff and grass clippings pack condenser coils and starve a system of airflow. We clean what we find and show you the difference, rather than adding refrigerant to a unit that just could not breathe.
- Heating too, not only ACFurnace repair, heat pump faults and no-heat calls get the same attention as summer work. Ignition problems, cracked or failing components and short cycling all get diagnosed before we recommend anything larger.
- All major brands, gas & electricFrom Carrier and Trane to Lennox, Goodman, Rheem and Bryant, serviced independently.
- Straight answersWhen a replacement beats a repair, we tell you, sometimes before we roll a truck.
