Why Riverside homes end up needing this
- The AC runs all day and the house still will not cool Undersized or worn-out system, failing compressor, duct losses
- We have had it recharged three summers in a row Repeat refrigerant leak in an aging coil or line set, replacement territory
- Repair quote is climbing on a unit past fifteen years End-of-life system, obsolete refrigerant, parts availability
What an AC replacement actually involves
We start by shutting down power and recovering refrigerant from the old system, then remove the condenser, the indoor coil or air handler, and any line set that is not compatible with the new equipment. Package units on the roof or in the attic get rigged out and the curb or platform inspected before the new unit lands. Then comes new refrigerant lines or a flush, a fresh filter drier, electrical connections, a drain pan and safety switch, thermostat wiring, and a full charge and airflow check before we leave.
What we check and install along the way
The condenser and coil are only part of the job. We look at duct condition and static pressure, because a new system pushing through crushed or undersized ducts will run hot and short-lived. We check the plenum and return sizing, the disconnect and breaker, the whip and wiring gauge, the condensate path, and the attic or roof platform. Where it matters we replace the line set, add a float switch, reseal the return, and set the thermostat up correctly for the equipment stages we installed.
How we decide replacement is the right call
Repair usually wins when the system is under about ten years old and the failed part is a capacitor, contactor, motor, or board. Replacement starts making sense when the compressor is dead, when a coil is leaking refrigerant on a system built for a phased-out refrigerant, or when repair costs stack up on equipment already past its expected life. We tell you which category yours falls in, and if a repair will get you through another valley summer honestly, we will say so.

Riverside permits, codes and utility programmes
Power here comes from Riverside Public Utilities, gas from SoCalGas.
Incentives here have run through SoCalGas residential rebates and TECH Clean California heat pump incentives. What is open changes, so ask when you book and we will tell you what we are seeing.
California Title 24, Part 6 applies to a changeout here, which normally means a permit, with HERS verification and CF2R/CF3R registration on most changeouts. City of Riverside Building and Safety Division handles them.
The federal 25C Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit applies to qualifying equipment, and the efficiency tier it requires is worth checking before you choose a system.

How long does an AC replacement take?
Most straight-across residential changeouts run a single day. Attic or rooftop package units, duct modifications, or electrical upgrades can push it into a second day. We will tell you which one yours is before we start.
Do I have to replace the indoor unit too?
Usually yes. Modern condensers are matched to a specific coil or air handler, and mixing old and new parts leads to poor cooling, short cycling, and a system that fails early. We explain the match on site.
How soon can you get to my house in Riverside?
Call us and we will give you a real window rather than a guess. During a heat run in July and August the same-day slots fill early, so morning calls have the best odds. If your system is completely down and the house is heating up, tell us when you call and we will treat it as urgent.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call or fill in the quote form. We ask what changed, when it started, and what the thermostat reads. That tells us whether to bring parts for a cooling fault or a heating fault.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and coil, refrigerant pressures, and the outdoor unit. You get told what failed and why, in plain words, before anything is replaced.
- Step 3
Repair and verify
We make the repair, then run the system and measure the results at the vents. If a part needs ordering, we say so and give you a realistic window instead of a vague promise.

Why homeowners call us
- Built for real valley heatWe work in areas where afternoons sit above 110 degrees and systems run for months without a break. That shapes how we size repairs, check capacitors and contactors, and judge whether a compressor is genuinely done.
- Attic and package unitsPlenty of homes across the region run attic air handlers or rooftop package units instead of a garage furnace and a side-yard condenser. We are used to the access, the duct runs, and the drain issues those setups bring.
- Dust and debris we expectAg dust, cottonwood fluff and grass clippings pack condenser coils and starve a system of airflow. We clean what we find and show you the difference, rather than adding refrigerant to a unit that just could not breathe.
- Heating too, not only ACFurnace repair, heat pump faults and no-heat calls get the same attention as summer work. Ignition problems, cracked or failing components and short cycling all get diagnosed before we recommend anything larger.
- All major brands, gas & electricFrom Carrier and Trane to Lennox, Goodman, Rheem and Bryant, serviced independently.
- Straight answersWhen a replacement beats a repair, we tell you, sometimes before we roll a truck.
